Mystery Unbound

Mystery Unbound

A Poem by Nancy Lee Shrader

barren landscape by jillhudgins.

Mystery Unbound

Mystery unbound

Seeking evidence you'll find

Judgment for the crime

Strips away top soil

Erosion of the landscape

Mother Nature cries

In a barren land

No trees or flowers grow here

In this unkempt world

The culprit we know

Cuts down trees and doesn't plant

Raping our planet

Judges gavel cracks

Good, the prosecution's case

We're guilty as charged

Sentence handed down

Spread the seeds throughout the land

Watch a seedling grow

Not a mystery now

Tend the gardens God bestowed

See a world that's green

Spain, Andalucia, fertile landscape with olive groves  Scotland, Perth and Kinross, Strathearn, summer landscape  Spain, Andalucia, farm landscape

Nancy, your message comes across wonderfully both with words and photos. I really like how you took the time to arrange the stanzas in a visually creative way. The gardener and conservationist in me appreciates this poem very much. Sharon
