Earth's Silent Appeal

Earth's Silent Appeal

A Poem by Nancy Lee Shrader

Flowers Images

Earth's Silent Appeal

Earth's silent appeal

A flower burst forth into bloom

Roots buried deep in the ground

Leaves were in tatters as it crawled

Up from its winter's bed

Searing pain all around

This flower's blooming head

Earth's silent appeal

A flash of pain in the moment

Wound is now healed

Soft petals have taken its place

Conceived in the quiet earth

Where human ears do not hear

A flower has attained new birth

Hm... wonderful thought here. It is invoking a prayer to stop this greed around us. I enjoyed this a lot. Sweet your presentation always with your moving pictures. Once thought to be one of four elements composing the universe (Empedocles)

a nicely balanced poem, Nancy. The metre is most effective--and the ten words are used very well. tovli
