Vampires Feast

Vampires Feast

A Poem by Nancy Lee Shrader

Haiku Vampires Feast

Twilight darkness fall

Vampires emerge from the grave

Blood lust fills their veins

Lurk in the shadows

For unsuspecting victim

Lips are dry and parched

Girl is all alone

Vampires swoop from the shadows

In a frenzy kill

Blood lust still unquenched

Eyes searching the night

Nostrils flared smells blood

Parked cars, steamed windows

Couples whisper sweet nothings

Under surveillance

Their screams fill the air

Fangs sink deep into soft flesh

Maximum drainage

Satisfied once more

They race the approaching dawn

Back to their coffins

Undead rest in graves

To be awakened again

When the moon climbs high

Bodies all around

Not a drop of blood is found

Night of Vampires feast
