Shadows in Your Smile

Shadows in Your Smile

A Poem by Nancy Lee Shrader

[scan0001.jpg]

Shadows In Your Smile

Shadows in Your smile on moonlit nights

Cover the landscape down below

Too many hearts are bolted shut

Locking out God’s eternal love

They whisk away their hope for tomorrow

And their eternity in heaven above

To soften the shadows in your smile

And fill it with golden light

For this I’ll walk an extra mile

Unlocking the doors now locked

Open hearts to God’s true love

By my testimony true

This will bring back the sparkle and shine

That God Your Father bestowed on you

I started to quote the stanzas I "loved the best", but Nancy
I would have had to copy the whole poem! I really loved
your Cornish Sonnet. Well penned indeed. Thank you for
submitting this to Ivor's Form contest! ~ Helena
