Hope for the New Year

 

Two thousand and seven brought heartache

Two thousand and eight brought hope

But by December turned into fear

Two thousand and nine I’m dreading

It’s not starting off to be a good year

 

My husband is racked in pain

My heart is breaking in two

How can I make resolutions?

For this brand New Year

When doctors have no solutions

 

I fall on my knees in prayer

During our darkest hour

I beg for God’s pure healing

Because doctors don’t know it all

And cancer, his life it’s stealing

 

I’m praying for the hope to return

To his loving brown eyes

He is my love and soul mate

He’s my heart, my everything worthwhile

I know many of your can relate

 

Pray with me this moment

When you read this poetic prayer

Whisper into Thy hands Oh Lord

With a loud Amen

Help me push back Satan’s evil horde

 

For God so loved the world

That He sent His only Son

To be striped for all to be healed

From dreaded things like cancer

And I know Jesus is his shield
