Drowning

Drowning

A Poem by Nancy Lee Shrader

Drowning

Drowning in my love for you

Through the years the flood swells higher

Not a flood of anger or despair

This flood envelops my very soul

With pure ecstasy and joy

When I say I’m drowning

It isn’t a bad thing

My love for you is overwhelming

As your love for me now told

They say each woman holds a rib

Belonging to her soul mate

You tell me yours has found its home

Within my diaphragm

I feel your love burning there

The way I’ve always felt complete

You complete me in so many ways

Transcending time and space

My love as we celebrate our fortieth year

I’ll tell you now I love you more

Than on the day we said I will

This a really sweet poem, and even has a really cute, nerdy vibe to it with the rib bit and all. :) I really enjoyed it, good job. :)
