Sea of FearA Poem by Nancy Lee Shrader
Sea of Fear I’m lost in a frozen sea of fear Drowning in the depths of my soul Heart has been ripped open and torn Watching the man I love be less than whole Cancer eats through this once vigil body Taking his manhood in its wake His face distorted with excruciating pain Tears fill his eyes as he feels my heart break We fight hard to hold to our faith As each new test reveals one more invaded cell Holding tight to each other we pray Sometimes I hear my inner voice yell I rebuke the cancer than has taken so much And will my anger into giving him strength I hold tight to his heart begging it to beat To keep him with me I’d go to any length Oh Lord, hold him in the palm of Your hand By Your stripes, let the healing begin Make clean his body as You have his soul Pluck out the cancer from deep within Give back his strength in the days to come Rejuvenate his soul in Your holy light Wash away the cancer from his body weak Oh Lord God please end this blight Dear God please end this sea of fear Send this frozen tidal wave far out to sea Give us many more years to love Lord let this be your final decree Amen © 2009 Nancy Lee ShraderReviews
