Mom and Dad

Mom and Dad

A Poem by Nancy Lee Shrader

Mom and Dad

Mom and Dad have gone on ahead

To their mansion up above

Dad went first to blaze the trail

Leaving Mom four kids to love

Mom did her best to make sure us kids

Stayed on the path to Eternal Life

Then she too left to join our Dad

Still his devoted and loving wife.

Together they stand hand and hand

On golden streets on high.

Waiting for their little brood

To join them in the sky.

I would like to tell my Mom and Dad

I have chosen the right way

I chose the Cross and Christ

They’ll see me on that Great and Glorious Day

I love the old time pictures of your parents, they made me smile. And your poem was endearing and loving towards your parents. I loved it! Good luck in the contest Nancy :)

Your parents are beaming with pride right now, Nancy. Thanks for posting the photos because they really gave your poem a more personal and special meaning. Sharon
