At night I allow my pet the moon Run freely into the sky meadow
Gazing into the night sky I watch the happiness there Romping and playing He runs to and foe
Like a little round puppy He bounces across the sky One night he is on my left Next night he’s on my right
Of course I allow him to run free This way and that way He frolics among the stars Like flowers in springtime
See the smile on his glowing face And the beams of laughter all around Sometimes he changes his shape As he plays hide and seek with the stars
We play fetch with wishes I wish and he carries it to a star With love he fetches the answer And brings them down to me
You may wonder if he has a name I call him Moonbeam of the sky Beloved pet of the sky meadow He listens to my dreams and desires
With Moonbeam my beloved pet I never walk in darkness I never stumble or fall I’m bathed in his playful light
