Haiku You Inspired Me

I’m inspired by you

At the age of two you showed

Your strength and courage

 

 

Always had a smile

Even through all of the pain

You comforted me

 

 

At the age of three

Knowledge far beyond your years

You grew up too fast

 

 

Cancer took your life

You reached and took the Lord’s hand

Leaving us with faith

 

 

For just one short year

You amazed so many souls

My David, my son

 

 

Again years later

Your father suffered your fate

Cancer struck again

 

 

Like you he inspired

Showed me his strength and courage

He never let on

 

 

Pain enveloped him

I’d ask, has the pain worsened

No buddy, he’s say

 

 

Up until the end

He never cried out in pain

His last word, Amen

 

 

Yes, I’ve been inspired

By my son and my husband

Both reached out to God
