Kitty Kitty

this poem is a few years old and was written for my stepmom when her cat passed away. i entered it into a contest and was published in a real book

 

Kitty,kitty,

Running straight for me,

A kiss on the face,

A warm embrace,

All those times you came to me,

Just looking for a snack,

All those times I said to you,

“Kitty, back, back, back!”

But now, my kitty, you are gone,

And I will shed some tears,

The love we had was strong,

It kept throughout the years,

You and me, me and you,

Together till the end.

I hope you have it good up there,

With eight more lives to spend.
