eyes of love

They sparkle more dazzling than fireworks

color than radiates more vibrantly than the clear blue sky

those eyes gleam as if wrapped in silk

more lovely than a soft rose petal between your fingers

but what draws me,

what keeps me,

is the life and love behind them.

I enjoyed the work. The imagery throughout was effective, yet not too showy - in particular I liked the tactile imagery of the rose petal between the fingers. The subject shift from the eyes to the person behind was sudden enough to be powerful, yet not forced.

The few errors (moe=more & check then vs. than) are a bit hindering, but I really liked this poem. It captures the feeling of looking into a loved one's eyes perfectly and elegantly without being too wordy. Good write.
