Halfway to a Metaphor

Halfway to a Metaphor

A Poem by NelliKong

Metaphors don’t always have to rhyme, they say if you don’t then it’s a crime. The rules in poetry is like having chains and shackles on all your extremities and they try to imprison mr due to my writing irregularities and pour these old fashion ways of thinking down my throat as some sort of remedy. Halfway to a metaphor in this prison, in this box that they try to put me in. The crime I apparently committed is blasphemy so now they want to come after me and these words overflow from my brain because of over capacity. I may not be spectacular, but I’ll spit this truth with my vernacular and it hits you so hard that it makes you go into cardiovascular ..arrest; sure I can attest that I’m not the best and put all this monstrosity to rest. Halfway across the road  from a metaphor a sigh of relief, but now I must look both ways before I cross the street.

hello nellie,
i liked your poem, it was a fun read. 😀
you may not be aware, but there is a typo in line 2 ....."to imprison mr due to...." -->> me

your poem, currently written more like a story, would look better & be easier to read if you used stanzas, I M O.

I like the meaning of this very much ; it's clever; a suggestion: perhaps you could write in vertically and use spaces..then it doesn't look as cluttered...but I like your writ in, so keep it up!
