The Tall Tale of Fairy TalesA Poem by NelliKongThey say once upon a time… that statement right there is a crime… let me proceed to write the next chapter of this book called life… because happily ever after doesn’t exist… it’s just this never ending abyss… this constant ringing in my head telling me that class is dismissed but, I really want to stay after class to get a better understanding of “fairy tales”. Romeo and Juliet, Mark Antony and Cleopatra, The Hunchback of Norte Dame are just a few examples of why “fairy tales “ are a myth… let me explain it like this… did any of these individuals experience a happy ending? no, exactly so let’s stop pretending. They all ended in death, who ever would have thought they love kills…the pain more excruciating than any hit or any pill. Romeo abs Juliet died because one could not live without the other… the fact of one gone for all eternity was the same as being smothered under the covers causing you to not be able to breathe… these fairy tales aren’t really what they seem. Antony and Cleopatra are next on the list… two lovers that die by suicide… see how fairy tales are a bunch of lies… leaves you teary eyed from the sight of untruths…gory pictures of make believe just makes your stomach feel unsettled…fairy tales need to be laid out in a meadow along with the other horrendous acts of make believe. Last but not least is the Hunchback that received a lot of push back…the unappealing exterior left people vomiting with their eyes wide shut…those feelings of hate and disgust hit Quesimoto in his gut…in his distorted body just feeling stuck…wanting someone to just love him for who he was inside…but even his love for Esmeralda had to come to a demise…acid tears that stung, melting everything around him because now his world is destroyed. So no, I don’t believe in these “fairy tales” you speak…these stories are not meant to be read by the weak…Disney doesn’t write beautiful happily ever afters…it’a a disguise of a villainous nightmare disaster. © 2026 NelliKong |
