AI can't DO "no"A Story by neurostar burns
Are AI computations truncated?
Can 'no' be comprehended by AI? Does AI computation have blind spots? Could it be that AI might not distinguish between X-ray image labelled signs of pneumonia and one labelled showing "no" signs of pneumonia? Such a diagnoses would be haphazard. Also found is that for retrieving images, AI models could accomplish 80% but when asked to fetch the images, the accomplishment dropped to 65%. Language understanding for machine and human can be disparate; purposes showing machine comprehension as superficial, at least with western human systems. A study was concluded at MIT by Kumail Alhamould, available on arxiv.org. Many scientists depict reality of everything can be understood via applications of numbers to everything. Philosophically, can this be evidence of superficial understanding and application by automation? A machine can generate endless numbers for the value of Pi. But can it explain what is the meaning of computing such numbers? Computers are programmed (and didn't come into existence on their own). The programming seems to have them perform proactively. Likewise, they can dismantle what is proactively produced. Computers can be programmed to generate place holders, like with zero. But can computers provide explanation of what the application of zero means? It does not have personal experience or intrinsic values to access. Zero or null are mysterious, nothing can be depicted for them. How to explain. No positive or negative application is proper. Nothing can be ascribed. It doesn't hold water. So can a computer understand the null state? Can a computer understand the meaning of applying zero? Nothing means nothing. Which means there sound 'no' value, anyway, anywhere. Which means 'zero' or 'nothing' have no substantiation, no hold, no position, no place. They too have not grounds to be expressed, much less the contrived numbers or symbols which purportedly represent the whole of existence and nonexistence. This includes ideation. To paraphrase: I do not negate anything for there is nothing to be negated. Pratisedhayami naham kim cit pratisedhyam asti na ca kim cit. - Nagarjuna, 1900 years ago. That would include the progamming/computer/AI. Could AI come to this realilzation? The implication be understood? It accordingly is insubstantial and all of its products. The computer would have to realize it too is not real but null. NO existence or nonexistence can be posited. "no" meaning could be read as subjectless, void and empty of content. Here, "no" is nothing arising.
