Your wordsA Poem by AlexisYour Words They say that words can’t hurt us, That it’s not worth the fuss, But in our hearts where scars don’t heal, We know deep down that’s it’s all real. For time will not break us, Neither words from you, My outside may stay strong, But the inside may renew. I've been hoping lately, That time will stop for once, So you can hop back to the time, And take back what was done. I may stay strong for now, And I may stay strong then, I may not know how, But it will not show again. You say you've pranced upon me, And taught me all your ways, But I know I will soon be free Upon my soul you will no longer graze For time will not break us, Neither words from you, My outside may stay strong, But the inside may renew. But I will soon stand up, And fight my way free, Being no longer your cub To discover what is me. A bully takes your heart, A bully takes your soul, But I will fight for us, And teach them we are whole
