Sometimes the emotions we feel or the way we feel them can make us stop and think. I don’t think it’s terribly unusual to feel what should be conflicting emotions in the midst of chaos. I know for a while there in my life, I didn’t mind the chaos too much because it just felt like the right thing to be in the middle of when I was already feeling that way inside. I would definitely advise against frequently finding joy in other people’s misfortunes but if it’s just finding the things that do make you happy unrelated to that then continue right on.
