Names On The Willow Tree

A short little poem I thought of after being inspired

 

On a willow tree are names of a love that could have been 

Names of two innocent souls trying to make it work

Names just for a split second meant more than love 

The names in the willow tree were of you and me

Very nice! I really like the line "Names of two innocent souls trying to make it work" - the use of "innocent" makes you wish that the two really could have found love together. The expression "split second" is also interesting, as it implies both a very brief instant of time and breaking apart in the use of "split" (I know, I'm being a total literary analysis nerd here - but it's cool!) The idea of names meaning more than love is intriguing. The names themselves will endure upon the tree for a long time, even if they love they were supposed to represent never comes to pass. Nice work!

Hmmm... Isn't it beautiful when you write these innocent, pure words of love? It inspires me and makes me realize that there are still people like you who love as deeply and passionately as it possible... May the names of you and your lover stay always shining on the willow tree...
