Star

Star

A Poem by Nick Fatum

.. I

fly with you

my wind of songs

and kiss the night..

sad darkness light..

the loneliness fate

flys.. shining far

to die a star

a careless

star...

A love or love lost poem as so many are. As for dying a careless star, I'd have to agree with Jack on this one, "I would rather be ashes than dust! I would rather that my spark should burn out in a brilliant blaze than it should be stifled by dry-rot. I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet. The proper function of man is to live, not to exist. I shall not waste my days in trying to prolong them. I shall use my time." Jack London

The poetic feeling of tragic loneliness, disappearing into the icy outer space like a departing comet, amazing!
