it scares me to think of our past & how we didn't last.

You went your separate way to get away from all the hurt & pain,
i put you through.

I try to forget,
but somehow i knew i loved ya.

im sorry for the way i turned my back on you when u trusted in everything we had
might turn into something beautiful.

But the love we had died.
& it makes me so sad to see the love we had slowly fade away.

Reminding me of a timeless song by perhaps Blue October, fall in love, become a victim - yet a victim under your own spell.

Lyrics would be a great genre’ for this one, due in part, I can hear background music as I read. True songwriters take a piece of their heart and place it into verse, add a few catchy phrases to the mix and viola, a song.

Good stuff here, keep up the great work and remember to break it down into two verses and add a chorus if you wish to play around with that.
