Fools...

 

one by one...

they come and go...

joker of a game of cards...

 and "play" is all they know...

as true as they may seem...

and sincere as they want to be...

i have learned from my mistakes...

no way in hell they can "fool" me...

there's this feeling inside...

my instincts should suffice...

shame on "you" if you fool me once...

shame on "me" if you fool me twice...

this crazy world is just so brutal...

so nothing i should be sorry for...

“move along fools”  is all i can say...

i want someone "real" and nothing more...

I was reading a comic book recently and - your poem very much reminds me of it. There was a scene where someone was lured into another person's house cause they said they saw someone fell and got hurt at school.

In truth, it was a LIE, there were 3-people waiting there to take advantage of the girl that wanted to help. You have to be very careful whom you can trust in the world, granted. But if you keep your eyes and ears open and as my Dad says, "your head on a swivel," then you are that much closer to being aware of what is happening around you and that much better off determining how to handle what someone says.

Especially if it's a lie.
