The Hole in the Garden

This morning a very weird thing happened to me. I opened my eyes and first thing that came to my mind was...The Hole! The hole in the garden we left five days ago.

"We have to fix it Olivia!" I said.

"How?"

"I don't know! But we have to. Mother would not let me go back there again if she finds out!"

"I know, but, we don't know how to fix it. There is a hole in the wall! How on earth are gonna fix that?"

"Come!"

"Where are we going?"

"To the Garden. We are going to take a closer look, maybe by that, we can think of something to cover it"

Olivia and I went to the garden and looked to the hole.

"It's really big!" Olivia said.

"Maybe we can put a stone in it? That will cover that." I said.

"And where are we going to find a stone as big as that?" Olivia said.

"I don't know....oh! We can just put the broken part of the wall back!" I said.

"Yeah, but the stone rolled outside, we have to get outside to get it." Olivia said.

"Then we will go outside!" I said

I walked to pass through the hole. And then, I saw to most amazing thing I ever saw. The Village!

The castle is very far from the there. It takes one hour journey to the village, so nobody can just come to the castle anytime they want. I saw it and it was beautiful. I can see the houses, the streets and the carriages that was so small from this view. It was amazing! Seeing it for the first time, makes me want to live there. I want to be a part of it. Live in those houses, buy some fruits in the market and have a normal life! Be a normal person! I took another step, then another, then another, wishing I could be there. But, someone pulled my hands from my back..

"What are you crazy? You are not allowed to go outside the castle! You are the Princess!" Olivia said

"Yeah....But what if I'm not?!"

"What do you mean?"

"If I'm not the princess that means that I could go there!"

"But you are the Princess! The moment you go there, people will know who you are!"

"They will?"

"Yes! Look at yourself! You are wearing a dress and jewelries! Please Penelope, let's go back someone might see us here."

"Okay."

I went back to the hole and into the garden and back to my room.

I just want to experience it, being normal. But I can't because I am the Princess. Olivia was right. I can't just go there, people will know who I am, all because of this dress!... this dress? Wait a second...

"I know what to do!" I said to Olivia.

"Huh? Penelope! Are you still thinking about going outside?"

"Give me some of your clothes!"

"What?"

"Give me some of your clothes, Olivia!"

"What are you...Wait a second? You're going outside, wearing my clothes and you are going to pretend like a villager, aren't you?"

"I need to do this. It has been my dream! I wanted to see the village!"

"Are you out of your mind?"

"No! But I will, if I spent any minute here, knowing that I could finally do it! That finally, there is a way to fulfill my dream! Please Olivia! Help me see the village! I promise we will be back before dark!"

Olivia seems to understand me and said.

"What's your plan?"
