This struck me as funny. It very strongly expresses your thought, with conviction and feeling. The title seems odd. A true friend would not lie to you, even to protect your feelings. Also, 'someone' sounds like an individual, where 'they' sounds like several. (I'm no English professor) I don't know if I would call this piece a poem. But it is funny.
