What of my prayers?A Poem by NateWhat of my prayers, are they rare. No, not rare. Are they blessed? No, I am a normal mortal I don't think they are especially special. They are spoken in the light of day and in night's absence. One will echo in my head near and after noon. Yet there is something? Something... something... what is it? What is it that the God of heaven and earth sees in me, a small creature made from dust? What, if anything, do my words do? What could they possibly possess as a power when compared to that of God. Not, naught end nothing. Instead of always praying for change, for you my God to change. I pray God that you'll let me see, see my change in me and all about -- dismiss the doubt, in and out: this is what I pray. © 2011 Nate |
