There are somethings you can't hide.

once


i tried not to write. 
i hid the pencils 
under my mattress 
and the words 
inside of my veins.

that night 
the words seeped 
through my skin,
spilling around me 
like blood
from an open wound.

i awoke 
utterly 
alive.

I liked the transition of this read...the first stanza hides the hidden truth...yet the 2nd stanza makes it evident that is not going to happen...and you're 3rd stanza keeps it into perspective...you can't hide what is you as a person...especially if you're willing to bleed out to get the message across...
