Where Go Dreams?A Poem by Odin RoarkSome would argue, personal reality is first a dream.
Where Go Dreams?
by Odin Roark So profuse these dreams of ours Whether remembered from childhood Or like the prevailing daily threat Torrential rain of sorrow Granule snow-like smothering Whipping currents of guilt’s every present wind Pushing our inner thoughts Welcoming us to outside Brain branding Inescapable to many Oh how we allow delusion Thinking we can control our dreams Not knowing such Will not to be corralled Existing as inner truth Impossible to extinguish Yet We dash Bash Slash The dreams inexorable Why? We succumb Or suffer Or become the fortunate few Able to embrace the pain As lessons needing to be learned Survival affordable Oh how subservient we’ve become Outside forces telling us Forcing us Controlling us For… We have abandoned our childhood When imagination Aspiration Determinate dreams Were without intimidation And some label this as Arrival into adulthood Bullshit! © 2013 Odin Roark |
