Reflection the Deceiver
by Odin Roark Beware that which looks back at you-- Mirrors reflect something solid, Something capable of activating The physics of mirrored reflection. But… Is that the one standing there, Maybe even lying there, (That so often fantasized version of ourselves, Vegas fashion.) The mirror of cloning physicality Wanting so passionately to make us see, To realize the real image The unbridled honesty of… Giving us hives WTF is that me? How often do we play games? C’mon. For most of our adult lives, some would admit. Yet There are a few out there, Knowing the game, Determine to beat the game. How? Slipping under the radar Of their own guilt. Yeah. There’s where the deception grows, Or readies for harvest Your choice. Guilt. Such an amorphous non-entity, Infecting so many who, Like me, Like you, Gape at its power. But… Guilt is but lesson material To wake up, To see mistakes. Bad decisions as, Well… Growing the hell up. So… Let’s join hands, Accept we’re just an extension Of ancient primordial ooze, And smile together As all conscious beings must. We’re screwed. Remember, Like the cliché that makes Everyone feel so damn comfortable, We’re together, Void of those dastardly singular reflections Embracing the collective acceptance, The undeniable reflectance of reality Our nemesis, the anomaly of confusion So amorphous and anxious to please. Okay, I won’t say it again, Except this once We’re *#@*&* together. What a mash up image that is. Perhaps the perfect resolve, The elixir ingested as truth For those who can take it.
