Musetime

Musetime

A Poem by Odin Roark
"

Some hijinks is always welcome by my muse. As artists, we sometimes forget our partnership has feelings too... and an attitude. He/it/she, so capable in keeping me guessing who's talking/writing.

Musetime
         by Odin Roark

You are stale
Frail
And pale

Go out
Find fresh sight
Listen for hidden sound
List all you smell beneath the bridge
That place where hopelessness abounds

Avoid disturbing their sleep
Beneath cardboard solace
They desperately attempt
Acceptance of self
While you
The writer
Have only to observe
And absorb

Think less
Be more

Ahhh

Absorption comes not easy you say
Why would you want to BE that which you absorb?

Well my friend
I know the question well
How many times have you popped that question?

Sorry
Who am I…

Yeah
You’ve not been the easiest

But

Hey

I’m still here

Unlike you
I can’t go anywhere
Lest you take me
Get it?

That’s why I’ll be here
When you return
I’ve got some letters to prepare
Polish up the caps
Dust off some lower cases

You’ll have some words to create
Together
Maybe something worthwhile will light up the night

Worth a try?

You’re disintegrating rapidly
You know

So…

I know
Not easy leaving behind your 20’s
And you’ve been dragging my sorry a*s around for decades

But

Imagination has deadlines too

So

Remember

Reward doesn’t usually come from staring at stars

Comes from

Well…

Do we have to go over this again?

Bye

See ya

Take your time

I’m a bit beat

Could use a nap
