Circling of the Drain
by Odin Roark Worn out youth begs off aging Entreats mirrors to be broken For crippling lifestyles to vanish Even as will power to control Wans with denial’s onslaught In and out of mind’s pleasure dome go they Blinded by self-sabotage Sprouting seeds succumbing To already weed infested landscapes How dangerous This ever-cycling season Where today’s sunshine Remains so often chased By one’s virulent storm clouds How disheartening for some Whose fresh opened buds of hope Wilt with loving care’s absence Rendering expectation’s foretaste Ever desperate to survive The circling of the drain © 2014 Odin Roark |
