What Matters

What Matters

The Buddha said that uncertainty along the path of life is the only certainty there is. (Image by Kozip)

What Matters
by Odin Roark

How programmed
This journey
This tolerance for intrusion

How permanent
The mistakes
We hold as earned guilt

How unpredictable
The waters of freedom
Where crosscurrents enhance our fears

Suffering these attachments
Ourselves
Our possessions
Even the people we love
Ignores the transiency of everything
Including life

Perhaps all that matters
Is how we sustain our state of love
How gently we live
How gracefully we set free
Those things not meant
For us
