Unframed Masterpiece

Unframed Masterpiece

A Poem by Odin Roark
"

I find it important to remind myself from time to time that I am merely a microbe in the vast art of creation. (Image by realityescapedtumbler)

Unframed Masterpiece
by Odin Roark

How we vacillate
Adorning our history with importance
For fear of forgetting

Some by carved accents
Surrounding the nostalgia
With rutted defense
Carefully worn potholes
Of caution

Others enclosed of smooth metal
Retrospect slick and precarious
Duly noted as future avoidance

The priceless acquisitions
Experiences no one else
Can possibly ascribe importance to
Become encased in nothing

Attachments set free
Their mission accomplished
Leaving behind nary a void
But the non-framing
Of oneness

Might the quintessential remembrance be

We are but part of
An open landscape
Needing neither enclosure
Or property line
Belonging only to existence
The unframed masterpiece?
