Christmas Day

Something I wrote for Christmas and is my first rhyme that I ever wrote

It's the early morning of Christmas
When all is in bed
That thoughts come rushing in
and fill my head

I remember the enchanting times
a sense of Nostalgia sets in
of all the fond memories
of all the Christmas' that have been

The Christmas Eve Excitement
Of the arriving of Santa's Sleigh
laden with all kinds of gifts
for us to open Christmas day

We awake in the morning
the bed covers are thrown
dashing for the living room
we make for our own

All kinds of presents 
under the tree are on display
we shred the wrappings 
to see with what toys we have to play

As we unwrap the presents
as the paper tears we see
its the toy we really wanted
its hard to believe

We are so excited 
for the toys we have received today
its hard to get us to eat 
for today we play

Awwww... those childhood days.. when we played all the day round. I am happy i read this one. :-) Its a rhyming one-first of all. As i am a great fan of rhyme. Secondly i wanted to read something to lift my mood. This definitely did the job. Filling me with nostalgia of the past as i have now friends who live away from me. Thanks for sharing :)

Im glad that I as able to lift your mood and that you liked my rhyme. You should read "Life Walks A Tight Rope" I would love your opinion on that one. Its kind of dark and not necessarily uplifting, but i think it is probably the best poem I have written. Would love your thoughts if you get the chance
