when phoenixes dance...

when phoenixes dance...

A Poem by offbeat orator

whilst journeying - two avid phoenixes in their prime,
soared the same skies, though not at the same time.
en route their charter, not commonly travelled before,
a salacious storm each did find, and bring to the fall.

as they fell from the sky, energy drained from fight,
their bodies caught fire against the fast fading light.
from flesh to ashes their existence was transformed,
and to the earth did descend, undone by the storm.

their embers fell scattered over lands far and wide,
finding shelter in nature they came to rest and to hide.
as the storm raged on with no apparent end in sight,
rain flooded the earth and all lost ashes came to unite.

slowly, the volatile rains into light drizzle did subdue,
and from the darkness did the sun start to protrude.
in the aftermath, ashes united, they started to repair
inspiring each other to heal strong for return to the air.

one clear day, from ashened dirt, did beauty re-rise,
spreading their wings wide as they took to the skies.
with past wounds now healed, and strongly repaired,
a pair of magnificent creatures were returned to the air.

survived and reborn, they climbed the skies intertwined,
respectfully circling the air above their sanctuary devine.
now, as they continue to journey and play and romance -
few sights more breathtaking than when phoenixes dance.
