Hitting A Wall

Hitting A Wall

A Poem by Olmsted A. T.
"

One of the first songs for my band Dan Rather Than 'N' Those Nefarious Qwarks

"
Hitting A Wall

Sometimes it feels

like I'm hitting a wall

deployed the parachute

yet continued free fall

grasping at the concepts

I just don't comprehend

and howling at the memories

of where I've been

Bloodied knuckles

lack of breath

frustration has

long ago set in

stubbornness says

don't you ever give up

Until you break

every finger you got

And I know I'm scaling mountains

I'm told'll be molehills eventually

the bitter truth of the struggle is found

after the epilouge reaches it peak

With each passing day

things seem to become less opaque

as the sun slinks back into it's nightly grave

And with the all the stars up above

at least the ones not yet to blow up

proffer up the proper council

for all the tiny battles won
