Amber

Amber

A Poem by Omar

amber is the color of limbo

suspended sands glitter in the sun

suspended wings obsolete

paused

Love ly

but the hourglasses never ceased

telling their stories, spreading their tentacles

taking everything with them

into the abyss

fossilized

in patterns that drilled deep

down into the bedrock,

and the molten center of the planet, now

abrupt

in this rigid flotation

a dismembered half-emotion

repulsive

see, here's the thing,

no.

but this unwatched corner

will always be the color

of amber

this, for me, is the symbol
of that one constant
of existence
perhaps, it's a shade
of resilience
albeit in isolation

Fabulous. Amber holds many a mystery that once inside could be solved.
