I'm bipolar. Each of my sides has its uses. Resourcefulness is important!

The climb I make from Jekyll to hide
is one that most would fear.
Should fear;
but I embrace the change for what it is:
Power.
Control- not a lack of...
But an increase
that is exponential
and with no limit of potential.

I thought this was a very interesting piece :) It's hard to talk about these sorts of topics sometimes, and people don't always know how to respond or how to approach it. I think you expressed it insightfully and I think it's a nice message that you've learned how to embrace it, not allowing it to take control over you, but rather you are taking control of your own life.

I'm glad that you were able to approach this piece :) it is an expanded version of a haiku i wrote with Dr jekyll and hide, explaining bipolar. Its a topic that seems to make people uncomfortable but i don't really understand that. People used to hide their depression and now almost everyone talks about it daily like its no big deal, which it isnt. Mental illness is just one more obstacle and one more spice that adds to our life a little challenge and variety. We dont choose all of our afflictions, but we choose how to deal with and shape them. Its a lot of work but I've successfully channeled mine for the most part. Every day is a new experience and every day is arduous, but it's worth it. Im always up for a fight ;)

that's very true :) people are uncomfortable with what they do not understand. The unknown can be scary for many. It's not what makes the person, and you're right: no one chooses what befalls them, but certainly what you make of it and how you deal makes all the difference :)
