Summerle

Summerle

A Poem by R.E.K.
"

What summer is like for me, a beautiful simile

"
To me
Summer tastes like
How peaches smell.
God-sent,
Sweet,
And heavy,
The kind of heat
That makes eyes hang low
Beneath tinted glasses
And a heart beat slow
To a lazy strum.

To me,
Summer looks like
Paper and fans,
Cartrips
And sand
That gets all over.
Summer is
Neatly a mess
Bright sky eyes,
Humid, horrid heat hair,
And a sticky smile.

To me,
Summer feels like a road
That sings off-key for miles
Then curves,
Smoothly,
Bit bumpy at the end,
And lands you
In a puddle called
September.

But for now,
Summer sounds like
A familiar stranger
Whispering
"Grow as fast
As you can..."
For summer doesn't last forever
It's a short lived
Never land
