A Cold DemiseA Poem by other_poem about addictionIt comes o'er me, like a glorious beam of sunlight, poking through on a cloudy day. Life; cold & dim; chilling to the marrow. It carries on slowly, steadily like the clouds-- drifting to disappear And then-- moments. Feelings of warmth. My pathetic, pale face fleetingly caressed; rejuvenated by the color. But, only for a moment. Leaving me searching in much desperation and much vain. To escape the cold. I find myself: consumed by memories, reviled for moving further toward escape. Leaving me in a much colder place than I could have ever even imagined.
