Lake Fontana

Lake Fontana

A Poem by Owen
"

written in 2021

"

A stirring caught me up then

Gone were the reeds of youth

And I wrestled with my demons

In some playground

With just us

Maybe we were children then

In the dimness of my memory

The sleepless nights spent near the water

And that dreamlike aching

That you saw the world with

Something of meaning in that stare

Cloaked by light you would move about

Softening the world with each step

A memory, distilled through the years

Something of fiction to me now
