Lesser of two evils. The pain of the lie, or, the pain of the truth?

Another palindrome, smaller than before but equally connected to an important milestone in my life

When I found out the truth I nearly fainted, 

The pain of loss nearly led me to die,

When I heard the news I cried for hours,

I'd never been more hurt since that time of confusion.
