Everything remained fine
Love dripped off others lips
Were we really supposed to fit?

I was stunned by the idea
Dismissed it as strange
Years have passed

Since those days

You have gone another
We talk
A polite attempt at chit chat
Shouting to islands
The space between us
Is seemingly infinite
I ask about your life
And you about mine
What has happened
In years left behind
We could ask what ifs
Until we are blue in the face
