Alternate TimelineA Poem by BrittenyWe can go through what if's all day
Awkward meetings
Distant greetings There was a time That we talked Throughout the day And into the night Worst enemies Best friends A time in our lives We thought would Never end Rumors through grapevines Everything remained fine Love dripped off others lips Were we really supposed to fit? You were infatuated I was stunned by the idea Dismissed it as strange Years have passed I have seen you Since those days I have gone one way You have gone another We talk A polite attempt at chit chat Shouting to islands The space between us Is seemingly infinite I ask about your life And you about mine What has happened In years left behind We could ask what ifs Until we are blue in the face Everything in this world has a place You and I Belong in The Alternate Timeline © 2012 BrittenyAuthor's Note
