The Devil´s Eyes

The Devil´s Eyes

A Story by Pamela García
"

A very short story about a boy who wanted to learn and wanted to change in order to survive life´s obstacles.

"

City lights fill me up as I find myself walking down the most beautiful street, an extraordinary moment is waiting for me, sitting in a coffee shop thinking about how change may be around the corner I get up and walk on the pouring rain, I see a book store.

Lights off, barely no one left just too much space for books to fill as if it was a broken heart. As I walk in I notice a man who was tall and skinny with beautiful nut brown eyes and a perfectly imperfect shaped nose. I see through him, with one look he´d fill your soul with warmth, you´d forget anything even what was going on at that moment.

As he walks towards me but further everytime, I wonder what he wanted to learn that day “How to Become Cold” it had written on the cover, I couldn´t help but ask; Why are you interested in it for? I don´t want to feel anything, he thought. -I don´t feel anything. he answered. I knew i had fallen in love with him after he talked, his eyes were hurt as was his heart, I couldn´t let him die inside. As much as I didn´t want to judge a book by its cover I never did, instead I tried; What do you think about love? -It doesn´t exist. -You have felt it, I implied, that´s when I understood and said to myself not for you he hasn´t.
The realest moment of my entire life suddenly became a lie -You told me you loved me. He said, -I didn´t, it was a mistake. I turned around and that´s when I couldn´t find an explanation, why were the Devil´s eyes so full of love?
