Distance.

Until this moment,

the sun shone so brightly.

Waves now carrying the light away

with their intricate dance;

the somehow simultaneous rising and lowering of the tides.

They floated away together,

hand in hand,

while I am left onshore

watching the one drift further and further 

into my ever fading memory.

The brilliant green sea

has drained me of all my sentiments.

Oh envious night, lead the way.
