The Internet

The Internet

Going online,
(Specifically chat sites)
What do you usually find?
Bots?
Crazy people?
Unattractive people?
Unattractive crazy bots?
That's all that I assumed existed online.
Most guys were pervs or fake.
Catfishers.
That's all I imagined meeting.
But then,
Someone changed my opinion.
I met someone perfect
On a site where I only expected to make a friend.
Someone who seemed too good to be true.
A diamond in the rough.
He told me sweet things that I thought were fake,
But I realized he meant them,
And I thought it was fate.
He's someone I fell for,
And been with for a year.
I hope and pray that he won't one day disappear.
The person I met is someone amazing and tall
And he taught me
Maybe not everyone you meet online
Is bad after all.

How sweet this is! I'm still smiling as I write this. I would work a little on flow, as the constant change of line length made the poem feel jumpy for me. That may just be me, though. Very well done!
