Surrender

Surrender

A Poem by parker

It's over, I surrender,
I'll lower sword and shield.
It's over, I surrender,
I'll leave the battlefield.
You've won, I've fallen,
but it was such a fight.
I'll go, I promise,
just give me 'til tonight.
Tonight I'll venture off,
find myself a brand new quest.
Maybe one that I can win,
since I've failed in all the rest.
I'm strong, still fighting,
my shield gets thicker every time.
I'm brave, still trying,
my sword still sharp beneath the grime.
It's over, I surrender,
and I'm glad you won, my friend.
Soon I'll begin all over,
soon my heart's long test will end.
