There is somewhat a sad tone to the poem for questions this speaker has that will never be answered. Well, not necessarily a sad tone but one that keeps me, the reader, thinking. Very nice :)

Thank you! It should sound sad, because it is. So many thing we will never know and what the person we love thinks about us. How do we get by that not-knowing?
