new year again

A new year is here again

really just like the last one

maybe the one before

these days they all seem the same.

yes it does get harder

as the years take there toll

there are more things to be done

age is pulling us down.

all I can do in life

is just keep going along

jobs still need doing you know

there is no beginning or end.

I do not begrudge this position

maybe its not what I chose

but I would choose it again

when it comes to true love

it will never end.

At 80, I can identify with this one. Retirement does not mean uninterrupted ease. There are, as you say, more things to be done. Jobs still need doing. But if they are for those we love, we would not have it otherwise.
