London my perception

London my perception

A Poem by yorkie
"

A view from the north

"
The perception of London
of a nice place
to visit
don't be stupid.

its a place
not a reason
anyone it stinks
that's London for you.

all tarted up
flashing lights
millionaire prosperity
is that what you see.

I look around
what do I see
well I see the homeless
the poverty.

so personally to me
its fake perfume
you don't like
that stinks.

that's London
it stinks of corruption
of dirty money
that's my perception
it stinks.

Interesting viewpoint. I would say that many of the major cities in the UK have the same problems. I was born in London, as were my parents and grandparents. I don’t feel the need to go back there, it’s changed beyond belief. However there are still attractions well worth seeing. My husband is from Liverpool, same there too. Homeless everywhere. Bad government does this. We don’t have a north/south divide in our household by the way. We are united:) You cover several issues in your stanzas.

An interesting viewpoint Yorkie....

As someone that didn't grow up here, but has lived here (London) for around 30 years now, I both love and hate the place at times, but I don't know if I could live anywhere else...!

This is a passionate write, from the heart, so respect to you mate...

Feel free to check out my latest....:)
