Step over the edge too far,
Where shadows stretch, and stars fall scarred,
A world once warm, now cold and dim,
A place where silence drowns the hymn.

The sky that once was soft and blue,
Now stretches wide with shades of rue,
Step over the edge, you'll see,
How far the fall, how deep the sea.

My hand outreached towards that edge,
Grows wrinkled with time of forgiving anew,
Mistakes etched into the palms of my skin,
pushed off a ledge falling with you.
