The Fire is My Only SunA Poem by BenjaminSmall flames waver against black like a jellyfish underwater; they lack substance.
The fringe of night remains sketched, the shadows pushed back and stretched to veil countless beasts,
the edge of the campsite is torn.
I know, I know they wait, with appetites large they must sate, and tempers strong and irate.
But I'm here to watch this fire and no matter how dire, I'll stay by my only sun. © 2014 Benjamin |
